The Write Place team in Pella welcomed a new staff member earlier this month. Writer and editor Hannah Crawford comes south to Pella from Rochester, Minn., to take her place among a talented staff of writers, graphic designers and project coordinators at this communications and book publishing agency.
Before joining The Write Place, Crawford worked as an editor at an online children’s magazine based out of Minneapolis. This past summer, Crawford attended the Denver Publishing Institute, to increase her knowledge of book publishing. She received her bachelor’s degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
One of Crawford’s primary roles will be managing the book division of The Write Place, which helps authors self-publish their books. Writers who need help with writing, editing, proofreading, layout or overall project coordination for their book can find it at The Write Place. “Hannah will be taking a leading role in our book division,” said owner Carol Van Klompenburg. “Along with our recent move to our office in downtown Pella, this hire is part of an exciting stage of growth at The Write Place.”
Crawford will also proofread and edit projects such as catalogs, newsletters, press releases, and Web site content for Write Place business clients. “As always, we are committed to making your business look and sound good, and Hannah is a valuable addition to our team as we accomplish this mission,” said Alexis Thomas, business division manager.
