The Write Place is delighted to welcome our new intern, Moriah Morter! The internship began in February and will extend through late July. Moriah is excited to learn and grow her skills with the team, focusing on proofreading and writing social media posts and blog and e-newsletter content for the Write Place.
Moriah is a Wartburg College graduate with a degree in graphic design and English. In the past, she interned with Deksia as a creative, where she gained perspective on a designer’s role in marketing. She is looking forward to continuing her education and the challenge of writing within a marketing perspective.
“I’ve always enjoyed storytelling with words and graphics,” explained Moriah. “Watching the transformative role marketing plays in the promotion of a brand or business is fascinating to me. I am eager to lean into the differences in adopting a business-minded style of writing.”
Outside of her love for marketing, Moriah enjoys reading, running, drinking coffee, and spending time with her husband, Greyson. She has self-printed a verse novella titled Epiphany, which explores seven diverse poems through illustration. She considers this her favorite accomplishment (outside of marrying Greyson). If Moriah had to choose a book to read right now, it would be anything by Agatha Christie. Her favorite place to get a coffee is The Coffee Belt in Muscatine, Iowa, where her drink of choice is a horchata latte.
